Two-time champion Stewart Cink continued his stellar play at Harbour Town Golf Links on Friday, firing a second consecutive round of 8-under 63 to claim a five-shot lead over Canada’s Corey Conners at the halfway point of the 2021 RBC Heritage Presented by Boeing.
Cink jumpstarted his round with an eagle at No. 2 and birdie at No. 3 and rolled through a bogey-free day, separating himself from the field with four back-nine birdies. Conners surged to the top of the leaderboard after the early wave with a 7-under 64 that included a double-bogey at the par-3 14th (his fifth hole of the day) offset by nine birdies and a blistering 6-under 30 on the front nine.
Emiliano Grillo matched Conners’ 64 to move into third place at 10-under, and first-round leader Cameron Smith is tied for fourth at 9-under along with reigning PGA champion Collin Morikawa, Sungjae Im, and Billy Horschel. Past champion Wesley Bryan is among a group of three at 8-under.
