USCB softball split a pair of pitching duels at Southeastern on Saturday, defeating the Fire 1-0 in the opener thanks to 10 Ally Muraskin strikeouts before dropping the rematch 2-0.
The Sand Sharks scored their lone run in the second inning of the opening game, as Devon Weller connected on a single up the middle, scoring the speedy Rachel Frankhouser to take the 1-0 lead. Muraskin did the rest for USCB, accumulating three 1-2-3 innings throughout the contest.
The home side had a strong opportunity to score in the fourth, but the stellar Florida International University product worked out of the jam to keep Southeastern off the board before finishing off the Fire in the seventh to claim the win.
