GOLF: Thomas, Sand Sharks sting SCAD in dual match

USCB men’s golf claimed victory in its only dual event of the season Saturday, soaring past SCAD Savannah by 19 strokes at the Savannah Quarters Golf Club.

Jacob Thomas impressed on the course for the Sand Sharks, leading all competitors with a 2-under 70. The junior and Edmonton native was the only golfer to shoot under par for the day.

Dawson Peters recorded another strong outing, shooting an even-par 72 to finish second individually and collect his remarkable 17th-straight top-15 finish. Christoph Hagenauer and Skyler Sicoli posted matching 76s to finish in a tie for fourth, and Jonas Demant placed seventh with a 79. 

USCB returns to action April 12 to participate in the two-day Roadrunner Classic in Dalton, Ga., the final meet of the regular season.
