Hilton Head Prep baseball put up 10 runs in the first inning and rolled to a 16-3 victory over visiting John Paul II on Wednesday to improve to 16-0.
Luke Foley went 2-for-2 with a homer and five RBIs to lead the way as 11 different Dolphins contributed to a 13-hit attack. Tristan Bonomo was 2-for-2 with an RBI, Harrison Green had a hit and two RBIs, and Tommy Stauffer, Phoenix Betancourt, Payce Gartner, and Reese Malon each had a hit and drove in a run for HHP.
Connor McDonnell struck out four over two scoreless innings, and Gartner finished it off with three innings of relief, allowed three runs (two earned) and six hits with four strikeouts and two walks.
Hayden Jennings was 2-for-3 with a double and two RBIs to lead JPII at the plate. Peter Hughes, Landry Donoth, Nate McDonough, and Christian Tilton added hits for the Golden Warriors.
HHP (16-0, 7-0) hosts Beaufort Academy on Wednesday.
JPII (3-7, 3-5) hosts Pinewood Prep for a non-region game Thursday.
