May River boys soccer took down another top-caliber opponent Friday, beating Class 3A power Oceanside Collegiate 4-2 at the Hardeeville Recreation Complex.
Zeke Chappelear scored a pair of goals, and Renty Kitty and Chris Hernandez each added a goal to lead the Sharks.
Kitty scored his first varsity goal in the sixth minute, converting a Filippe Filous assist to open the scoring. Chappelear made it 2-0 in the 12th minute with a rebound from his own blocked penalty shot.
OCA took advantage of a counter attack to cut it to 2-1 in the 55th minute and found the equalizer on another counter four minutes later, but the Sharks didn’t take long to respond. Chappelear added his second goal in the 62nd minute, and Hernandez put a free kick in the back of the net to secure the win in the 67th minute.
Keeper Dallas Winston had three saves.
May River was back in action Saturday, taking on Airport.
