WBB: Reserves put on show as Salk slams Trojans

The USC Salkehatchie women’s basketball team came off a 10-day layoff and picked up right where they left off Tuesday, hammering visiting Fayetteville Tech 142-38. 

Four Indians topped the 20-point mark in the blowout, with reserves Shatyra Moree and Mariah Igus combining for 61 points. Moree poured in 31 on 14-of-22 shooting to go with 13 rebounds and four blocks in a dominant performance in the paint, and Igus added 30 points on 12-of-19 shooting, including three triples, while racking up six assists and seven steals.

Antwanique Walley put up 26 points, six rebounds, and seven steals, Breah Keitt added 22 points, six boards, and four steals, and Andre’sia Alexander dished out 11 assists to go with eight steals and four boards.

USC Salk (4-0) travels to Denmark Tech on Friday in a rematch of the Indians’ 109-75 victory Feb. 2.
