The SCISA Region 4-2A leading Bethesda Blazers were given a fight on Lady’s Island on Monday before escaping with a 50-44 road win over Beaufort Academy.
It was a back-and-forth affair throughout the game, but BA could never push it over the top and grab the lead.
Turnovers, free throws, and foul trouble were the killer for the Eagles. BA turned it over 13 times, shot only 3-of-10 from the line, and had three top players with four fouls late in the contest, with one of them fouling out with more than five minutes remaining.

Donte Dorman scored 15 points, Joshua Quarterman added 12, and Ivan Gooding had 10 for the Blazers, who remained unbeaten against SCISA 2A opponents in region play with their only loss coming to SCISA 3A flex team Hilton Head Prep.
Beaufort Academy (10-10, 3-6) travels to John Paul II (9-5, 4-4) Tuesday night in a rematch of the Golden Warriors’ 44-38 win at BA on Feb. 2.
