USCB’s men’s golf team took down a quartet of Division 1 opponents in their own backyard Monday and Tuesday, finishing fourth out of eight teams in the Oldfield Invitational while Hilton Head Island’s own Daniel Azallion captured the individual and team title for Virginia Tech.
The Sand Sharks were led by freshman Jonas Demant, who finished the two-day, three-round event in a tie for 12th. The German native saved his best golf for last, shooting a 4-under 32 on the final round’s back nine to end the round with a two-under 70 and the tournament with an even-par 216, matching Cincinnati’s Sam Jean.
