HSBBB: Early hole too much for HHP to overcome at Northwood

Hilton Head Prep’s boys clawed back within striking distance after a slow start but couldn’t close the gap in a 70-53 loss at Northwood Academy on Friday.

The Dolphins fell behind 23-12 after one quarter and scrapped to stay in it, trailing by 10 at halftime and closing within 44-36 after three quarters before the Chargers pulled away.

Kane Eanes scored 17 points to lead the way for the Dolphins, while Jayden Chance added 14 and JJ Hayes had 12. Luke Foley grabbed a team-high 10 boards to go with five points and four blocked shots.

The Dolphins (5-2) are off until resuming region play Jan. 5 at Beaufort Academy.
