HSGBB: Heginbottom’s 24 paces HHP in win at Habersham

Sami Heginbottom led the scoring for the second straight game, and Hilton Head Prep’s girls capped off a stellar weekend Saturday, taking down the Habersham School 55-34 on the road. 

The Dolphins built up a 10-point advantage in the opening period before finishing the half with a 25-12 lead. Habersham kept the contest within striking distance early in the second half, but the Dolphins closed the game on a 19-11 run in the fourth to pick up their second win in as many days.

Heginbottom poured in a game-high 24 points to lead the way again, backing up a 16-point outing Friday night against Pinewood Prep. Abi Mendoza tallied eight points, Annie Braun had six, and Haylee Hopman added five. 

There were contributions all around the lineup, as Ella Clark, Emma Moore, and Gracie Henderson all chipped in with four points each. 

Hilton Head Prep (3-1) will face a difficult test on the road Friday against Northwood Academy.
