Battery Creek’s girls bounced back from their first loss of the season in a big way, blowing out Colleton County 54-25 in their home opener Tuesday.
Emonee Johnson posted a double-double with 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Dolphins, and she threw in four steals and three assists for good measure to lead a stifling defensive effort.

Maya Smith added 13 points, three assists, and four steals for Creek, while Noni Singleton contributed 10 points, six boards, and three steals, and Kiara Wilson had 10 points and four rebounds.
Ashante Shaw pulled down nine rebounds to go with four points to help the Dolphins dominate the glass 33-14, and Creek held the Cougars to 29 percent from the floor. Johnson was 3-for-4 from 3-point range as the Dolphins shot 6-of-12 from behind the arc.
The Dolphins (2-1) continue their three-game homestand at 6 p.m. Friday against Denmark-Olar.
