The Whale Branch girls rattled off 18 straight points to start the game and rolled to a 56-20 victory over visiting Battery Creek on Friday.
Kynew Barnwell scored 16 points, Jazmin Diaz added 14, and Zhani Thompson had 10 to lead the Warriors, who took advantage of 37 Battery Creek turnovers.

The Warriors started the game with an 18-0 run before Myra Smith finally got the Dolphins on the board before Whale Branch’s Jalaila Jenkins drilled a triple from the corner ending the first with the Warriors up 21-2.
Whale Branch continued the offensive surge throughout the half, going to the locker room up 37-8 after Thompson scored all 10 of her points in the second quarter.
Noni Singleton had eight points, four rebounds, and three steals, and Ashante Shaw added four points, six rebounds, and five steals for the Dolphins. Erin Rivers added nine points for the Warriors.
Whale Branch (2-0) travels to Estill on Tuesday for a rematch of the Warriors’ 54-30 home win in the season opener. Battery Creek (1-1) begins a three-game homestand against Colleton County on Tuesday. The Dolphins defeated the Cougars 41-32 in their opener.
