May River girls tennis stayed undefeated on the young season with a 6-0 sweep of crosstown rival Bluffton on Tuesday.
The Sharks won five of the six matches in straight sets, but the No. 3 duel was a marathon three-setter that resulted in Delaney Brown edging Julia John to complete the sweep.
The Sharks (2-0, 2-0) face a tough test Tuesday, hosting Hilton Head High at 4:45 p.m. for a pivotal Region 7-4A matchup. The Bobcats travel to Beaufort Academy for a non-region match Monday.
