Thomas Heyward Academy had no trouble getting back on track Friday at Dorchester Academy, rolling to a 38-14 victory over the Raiders to open region play.
Bruzza Pusha scored two touchdowns — one rushing and one receiving — and the defense scored twice for the Rebels, who led 30-0 before the Raiders put together a couple of late scoring drives.

Brandon Howard got THA on the board with a 38-yard touchdown run in the first quarter, and Pusha hauled in a 5-yard TD pass from Peyton Bennett to make it 14-0 at halftime.
The defense got in on the action in the second half, as Anthony Fripp returned an interception 50 yards for a score and the Rebels pounced on a Dorchester fumble in the end zone to extend the lead to 30-0. Pusha added a 22-yard TD run sandwiched between the Raiders’ two scoring drives.
The Rebels (1-1, 1-0) travel to Trinity-Byrnes for a clash of defending state champions next Friday.
