John Paul II’s girls used an outstanding defensive effort to claim a 3-0 win over visiting Beaufort Academy on Tuesday.
The Golden Warriors’ veteran defense was almost impenetrable, allowing only three shots on goal, all of which were turned away by Abby Quinty. Basketball star Tkai DeVore took over in goal for the final 15 minutes, preserving the shutout in her JPII soccer debut. to take the field for her first minutes as a Warrior soccer player.
Katie Leigh Floyd started the scoring for the Golden Warriors midway through the first half, and Renee Delgado and Gin White each added goals in the second half.
