Hilton Head Prep’s girls saw their season come to an end with a 41-27 loss to Oakbrook Prep in the SCISA 2A quarterfinals Tuesday at Heathwood Hall.
After upsetting No. 2 seed Marlboro Academy in the first round, the third-seeded Dolphins gave top seed Oakbrook Prep quite a challenge in the second round.
HHP led 9-7 after the first quarter and trailed 14-11 at the half. The Dolphins went on a run in the third quarter and took a 24-20 lead, but the Knights’ outside shooters got hot, and Oakbrook closed the quarter on a 7-0 run and pulled away in the fourth.
Ella Clark led the Dolphins (12-15) with 10 points, while Haylee Hopman had six points, Mackenzie Joyner added five, and Kierstin Clark had four points and four assists.
