May River’s girls lacrosse team opened the season with a 16-8 home win over Savannah Christian on Monday.
Glenda Rapalo scored four goals, Katie Benenati had three, and Corynn Psychohios, Vanessa Matuzak, and Sydney Santos each added two goals apiece for the Sharks. Daniela Carachure, Amanda Katon, and Mary Agnes Wessels each scored one goal.
Liz Iglesias started in goal and allowed five goals on 10 shots on goal in the first half, and Tori Meiss gave up three goals and made five saves in the second half.
