May River’s boys won their final match in the Charleston Shootout on Sunday, rallying for a 3-2 win over Stratford to claim a runner-up finish.
Joel Fleek opened the scoring for the Sharks in the 15th minute, but Stratford responded with two goals in a six-minute span to take the lead into halftime.
May River responded five minutes into the second half with Conner Golden scoring the equalizer off a Chris Hernandez assist. The Sharks missed an opportunity five minutes later when Hernandez missed a penalty, but they capitalized on a Stratford defensive error in the 55th minute with Golden finished off a Fleek assist for the game-winner.
Matthew Turner (three saves) and Sebastian Orlando (two saves) split time in goal for the Sharks.
