A short-handed Whale Branch girls team came up just short in a 39-36 loss to visiting Wade Hampton on Tuesday.
Kynew Barnwell scored 14 points, Jazmin Diaz added 11, and Zhani Thompson had nine points and 10 rebounds to lead the Warriors. Erin Rivers pulled down 13 boards.
