May River’s girls ran away with a 68-35 win over Pinson Valley (Ala.) in the first round of the Battle of Buckhead tournament Friday in Atlanta.
The Sharks raced out to a 15-3 lead after the first quarter and led 27-16 at halftime before easing away in the second half.
Gracyn Drury scored 14 points to lead four Sharks in double figures. Jordan Bigham added 13 points, Chynna Sneed had 12, and Emma Peluso scored 10 for May River.
