We’ve heard from both coaches and broken down the stats, but one person has a unique perspective on tonight’s Class 3A Lower State title game between May River and Dillon.
Wade Hampton coach Jerry Brown has had to gameplan for both teams this season — his Red Devils beat the Sharks to claim the Region 8-3A title but lost to the Wildcats in the second round of the playoffs — so he helped us break down the keys to the game.
Here’s Coach Brown’s prognosis:
• Both offenses are great at scoring, so the turnovers, special teams, and penalties are huge.
• Dillon has a great backfield and wide receivers, and their speed will be a problem for May River.
• May River has tight end sets that will be hard on Dillon to stop the run and the RPOs (run-pass options).
• Whoever has the ball more wins.
