HSFB: THA runs over Warriors

Thomas Heyward took care of business in the first step of its SCISA 1A state title defense Friday, routing visiting Dillon Christian 50-6.

The Rebels rolled up over 300 rushing yards and led 50-0 at halftime. John Clark Tilton and Bruzza Pusha each scored two rushing touchdowns, and JR Patterson, Anthony Fripp, and Ayden Lassiter added one apiece for the Rebels.

THA’s defense also dominated, keeping the Warriors scoreless until the final minute of the game.

The Rebels (9-2) will travel to Pee Dee Academy on Friday for a rematch of last year’s state championship game. THA beat Pee Dee 42-23 at home Sept. 20.
