Race car driver and Bluffton native Gus Dean will be the featured speaker at the Athletic Club of the Lowcountry’s next meeting Nov. 11.
Dean has been racing since the age of 6 and was a national champion go-kart racer by the age of 9. After a three-year run on the ARCA Series, Dean graduated this year to the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Trucks Series.
The 25-year-old driver will tell the story of how he got started and climbed the ladder to the professional ranks, as well as give an inside look into professional motorsports.
The meeting will be held at 7 p.m. on Nov. 11 at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bluffton. Refreshments will be served during the social period prior to the meeting beginning at 6:30 p.m.
Members of the Athletic Club of the Lowcountry and guests are welcome, but guests should call Judy Barry at 843-705-5223 to register their intention to attend.
The Athletic Club of the Lowcountry meets the second Monday of each month, with the exception of June, July, August and December. New members and visitors are always welcome.
