Thomas Heyward’s region title hopes took a huge hit Friday with a 28-16 loss at Bethesda Academy.
The Rebels took an early 8-0 lead on Josh Gobel’s 50-yard interception return for a touchdown, but they didn’t find the end zone again until JR Patterson’s 64-yard touchdown reception from Bruzza Pusha late in the fourth quarter.
THA was able to move the ball but had a hard time getting into the end zone, held up by penalties and four turnovers.
The Rebels (7-2, 2-1) host Dorchester Academy for another key region game next week.
