Hilton Head High and Hilton Head Christian Academy each split their matches at a tri-match Tuesday, with the Seahawks winning the head-to-head clash between the cross-island rivals.
The Seahawks swept the Eagles 2-0 (25-22, 25-22) but fell to Savannah Christian Prep 2-0 (27-25, 25-14), while Hilton Head Christian Academy edged the Raiders 2-1 (12-25, 25-22, 15-8).
McKenzie Ryan and Ava Edri each contributed 10 kills, while Ryan (17) and Edri (10) also led the team in digs. Brooke Simons and Lizzie Syverson each added seven digs, Makenna Mason tallied 32 assists, and Veronique Magnan, Simons, and Edri each had a pair of aces.
Ady O’Grady led HHCA with 18 kills, eight blocks, and 16 digs, while Lauryn Qualls added 11 kills and 13 digs, and Abby Peduzzi had nine kills and 10 digs. Brielle McCarthy dished out 36 assists to go with 10 digs for the Eagles.
The Seahawks travel to Bluffton on Thursday for Region 7-4A match, while the Eagles play at Colleton Prep on Thursday.
