Youth Baseball: American Wins Bluffton Clash In Machine Pitch State Tourney

Bluffton American remained undefeated with a win over Bluffton National on Sunday at the Dixie Youth Baseball AA Machine Pitch (7-8) State Tournament in Florence.

Bluffton American used a six-run third inning to break open a close game en route to a 13-3 victory. Finn Boyles was 3-for-3 with four RBIs, Nathan Fulton was 3-for-3 with a triple and three RBIs, and Nicholas Carpenter was 2-for-2 with two RBIs to lead American. Jaxson LeBaron, Zack Szypczak, Derek Blesie, and Nathan Guthrie each added two hits apiece. 

Caleb Malphrus, Eli Elam, and Nic Farrugia each had two hits for National, which suffered its first loss of the tournament and will face Ladson in an elimination game at 1 p.m. Monday. 

American will face fellow Blythewood — the other undefeated team remaining in the field — at 3 p.m. Monday with the loser facing the National-Ladson winner in an elimination game at 6 p.m. and the winner playing again at 7 p.m.
