HS Tennis: Sharks, Dolphins Split

May River and Hilton Head Prep split a pair of matches Tuesday, as the Sharks finished off a 4-2 win in the completion of a suspended match from March 26 before the Dolphins won the rematch 6-0.

Liam Beckler, JP White, Kyle Polites, and Benny O’Reilly all earned singles wins to lead the Sharks in the first match.

The Dolphins were without their top three singles players in the initial match but brought the full lineup for the rematch and swept all six courts. Mo Woodson, Justin Perez, Drew Rukavina, Magnus Ferreira, and Alex Zhu all won singles matches, and Max Marko and Jack Barney teamed up for a doubles victory.

The Dolphins (10-3) host rival Hilton Head Christian Academy on Thursday for their regular-season finale. The Sharks (6-4) wrap up the regular season Wednesday against Beaufort High.
