May River locked up the No. 2 seed from Region 8-3A with a doubleheader sweep of Wade Hampton on Tuesday.
The Sharks won 12-2 in four innings in the first game and blanked the Red Devils 10-0 in three innings in the second game.
Giovana Rodriguez was credited with in the win in game 1, striking out two in 1 1/3 innings of perfect relief after Gabby Ximenez struck out five, walked six, and allowed two runs and two hits over 2 2/3 innings. Hannah Manley hit a three-run homer, Kylee Gleason was 2-for-2 with a triple and two RBIs, and Jordan Kovacs was 2-for-3 with two runs and two RBIs.
Rodriguez struck out five in a one-hit shutout and drove in two runs at the plate in the finale. Gleason was 3-for-3 with a triple, two RBIs, and three runs, and Peyton Rockwell was 3-for-3 with two runs and an RBI.
The Sharks (12-5) will open the Class 3A District 5 tournament at home against Cheraw on Wednesday.
