May River went 3-2 over the weekend at the Triple Crown Invitational in Aiken.
The Sharks defeated Mid-Carolina (19-0), Fox Creek (13-0), and Spring Valley (13-6) and lost to Palmetto (8-0) and Indian Land (3-2).
Kylee Gleason (12-for-17, 2B, 5 RBIs, 9 runs), Peyton Rockwell (8-for-13, 2 2B, 5 RBIs, 7 runs), and Gabby Ximenez (6-for-10, 2B, 2 HR, 4 RBIs) had big weekends at the plate. Ximenez was 2-1 in four starts and one relief appearance, allowing 11 runs over 16 2/3 innings with 21 strikeouts.
The Sharks (9-5) host Wade Hampton for a Region 8-3A doubleheader at 5 p.m. Tuesday.
