HS Softball: Sharks Dominant In Sweep Of Jaguars

May River rolled to two resounding wins in a Region 8-3A doubleheader against Ridgeland-Hardeeville on Wednesday.

Gabby Ximenez and Kylee Gleason combined on a no-hitter in a 15-0 win in the first game, and three pitchers teamed up for a one-hitter in an 11-1 victory in the finale. 

Ximenez struck out four and walked one in two innings, and Gleason had two strikeouts and a walk in one inning to finish off the no-hitter. Gleason also went 2-for-2 with two runs, while Hannah Manley and Kayla Bradley each had two hits and an RBI.

In the second game, Giovana Rodriguez struck out one in a perfect inning, Gleason struck out three and walked one over two frames, and Ximenez gave up a solo homer to Rylee Holmes and struck out four over two innings. Ximenez was 2-for-3 with a double, a triple, and three RBIs, and Caleigh Powell was 2-for-2 with two runs. 

May River (6-3, 4-2) travels to Aiken for the Triple Crown Invitational on Friday and Saturday.
