Hilton Head Prep’s boys earned a big region win with a 3-2 home victory over John Paul II on Thursday.
Jesus Morales scored a hat trick for the Dolphins, including the game-winner with two minutes left.
JPII took an early lead on Mark Martel’s goal, but Morales scored the equalizer before halftime and gave the Dolphins a 2-1 advantage after the break. Sebastian Laverde converted a penalty kick with five minutes left to even the score, but Morales finished the hat trick three minutes later to give the Dolphins the win.
HHP (4-4, 1-0) hosts Savanah Country Day on Tuesday. JPII (5-5-1, 0-1) travels to First Presbyterian on Wednesday.
