Defensive miscues and a lack of timely hitting continued to plague Battery Creek in a 3-1 home loss to Byrnes on Friday.
The Dolphins made five errors leading to three unearned runs and left six runners on base, leaving the tying run at the plate in the bottom of the seventh.
Emily Crosby was 1-for-3 with a double, and Journeigh Doray, Margaret Schubert, and Bailey Emmert each added a hit for the Dolphins. Alexis Ortiz struck out two and allowed five hits and a walk in a complete game.
Battery Creek (0-3) hosts Colleton County on Tuesday.
