Battery Creek couldn’t overcome 10 errors in a 10-7 loss in extra innings to visiting Byrnes on Wednesday.
Despite the defensive miscues, the Dolphins scored three runs in the bottom of the seventh to tie it at 7 and force extra innings, but the Rebels scored three times in the top of the eighth and Battery Creek could not answer.
Journeigh Doray was 2-for-2 with four runs and three RBIs to lead the Dolphins’ offense. Olivia Gee had two hits and an RBI, and Kelsey Hill and Alexis Ortiz also drove in a run.
Ortiz struck out nine and allowed 10 runs — one earned — and eight hits in an eight-inning complete game.
Battery Creek (0-1) hosts The King’s Academy on Thursday.
