Hilton Head Prep’s boys survived a barrage of 3-pointers from Spartanburg Christian to claim a 78-68 win Tuesday in the second round of the SCISA 2A state tournament.
Spartanburg Christian made 13 3-pointers to keep it close, but it wasn’t enough to overcome a huge game from Hilton Head Prep’s Haddith Stewart, who scored a season-high 31 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
Tyrone Calloway and Avern Montaque scored 15 points apiece and Stone McDonald added 10 for the Dolphins, who have won 23 consecutive games.
HHP (24-2) will face Christian Academy of Myrtle Beach in the semifinals at 8 p.m. Thursday at the Sumter Civic Center.
