The USCB baseball team swept a doubleheader from visiting Paine College on Wednesday, winning 22-4 and 11-0.
The Sand Sharks erupted for eight runs in the first inning of the opener, then blew it open with an 11-run sixth. A total of 16 different players recorded hits for USCB with Fremy Rosso going 2-for-2 with two RBIs, Bragg Eastin and Jack Slavin each going 2-for-2 with an RBI, and five others driving in two runs. DJ Lawler earned the win, allowing two unearned runs over three innings.
Chris Hitchman threw five scoreless innings to pick up the win in the second game, as three pitchers combined to limit Paine to two hits. Cole Hamilton was 3-for-3 with an RBI and scored twice and Nick DelBianco was 2-for-3 with three RBIs to pace the USCB offense.
The Sand Sharks (4-1) travel to West Palm Beach, Fla., to open Sun Conference play at No. 24 Keiser on Friday and Saturday.
