HS Wrestling: Sharks Move On, Dolphins Bounced In 3A Playoffs

May River’s wrestling team breezed into the Class 3A Lower State semifinals with a 51-12 home win over Pelion on Saturday.

E.J. Seman, Chad Hadden, Bennie Jenkins, Rodney Romero, Anthony Nelson, Wyatt Banfield, Kaleb Foulk, Ryan Humel, Terry Fields, Roderick Grant and Kailin Prescott-Ferguson picked up wins for the Sharks. 

Battery Creek won its first round match, defeating Loris 54-27, but lost to top-seeded Gilbert 53-18 in the second round.

May River will travel to Lake City on Monday with the winner hosting the Lower State final Wednesday.

  1. And the #1 seeded 4A Beaufort Eagles defeated Brookland Cayce 65-18 to advance in the 4A playoffs. They will host Airport on Monday night at 7pm.
