John Paul II’s girls erased a double-digit first-half deficit en route to a 54-50 road win at Beaufort Academy in both teams’ region openers Tuesday.
Tkai DeVore racked up 27 points and seven steals and Taylor Michael scored 10 points to lead the Golden Warriors.
Amelia Huebel scored 16 points, Shanese Bostick added nine, and Emily Ann Hiers and Mary Hanna Hiers scored eight apiece for the Eagles, who had won eight straight since a 49-33 loss to Golden Warriors on Nov. 30.
JPII (10-4, 1-0) continues region play at Hilton Head Prep on Friday. BA (9-2, 0-1) travels to Hilton Head Christian Academy on Friday.
