John Paul II’s boys faded in the third quarter and couldn’t recover in a 54-45 loss to visiting Andrew Jackson Academy on Wednesday.
The game was tied at 20 at halftime, but the Confederates got hot in the third quarter and jumped out to a 40-29 lead heading to the final period.
Sam Summa led JPII with 14 points and 12 rebounds, while Malone Kinard-Huisinger added 10 points and seven rebounds.
JPII (2-4) travels to Cardinal Newman on Friday.
