John Paul II suffered its second consecutive loss Friday, falling 14-6 to visiting Colleton Prep in a non-region matchup.
Zach Doe’s 4-yard touchdown run put JPII up 6-0 with 50 seconds left in the first quarter, but Colleton Prep shut down the Golden Warriors the rest of the way.
The War Hawks answered with a long drive for a 7-6 lead and put together another scoring drive late in the half for a 14-6 advantage at the break.
Both offenses sputtered in the second half, as the War Hawks held on.
JPII (5-5) is expected to be the No. 3 seed in the SCISA 2A playoffs and open at Greenwood Christian next week.
