HSFB: No Rust For Sharks In Easy Win Over Gators

A three-week layoff didn’t slow down May River, which remained undefeated with a 50-0 rout of visiting Lake Marion on Friday.

The Sharks led 30-0 after one quarter and let the backups take over from there. It was 50-0 at halftime, and the teams agreed to eight-minute quarters with a running clock in the second half.

“Our kids played with class,” May River coach Rodney Summers said. “I was proud of them. We were on that side a few years ago.”

Starting quarterback Ahmad Green and backup Joseph Tapscott each rushed for one touchdown and passed for one score, and Brandon Morales added a rushing TD. Jayden Void and Kamryn Gleason caught touchdown passes.

Ridge Dowe scooped up a blocked punt and returned it for a score, and the defense tallied safety and a fumble recovery for a touchdown.

The Sharks (5-0, 1-0) travel to Ridgeland-Hardeeville for another region matchup next Friday.
