Youth Baseball: Bluffton Minors Roll In State Tourney Opener

The Bluffton American 9-10 All-Stars cruised through their opening game in the Dixie Youth Baseball Minors State Tournament on Saturday in Moncks Corner.

Bluffton American built a big early lead and eased to a 12-4 win over Starr-Iva in its tournament opener.

Bradley Robbins went 2-for-3 with a double, a homer, and three RBIs to lead a strong offensive showing for Bluffton. Max Van Esselstyn was 3-for-3 with an RBI, and Archer Dewig was 2-for-4 with a double and scored three times.

Ryan Goll struck out five and allowed one hit in three scoreless innings to earn the win on the mound.

Bluffton will face Midland, a 16-0 winner over Clinton, at 4 p.m. Sunday.
