The Athletic Club of the Lowcountry invites everyone to its next meeting on Monday, May 14, at Lord of Life Lutheran Church in Bluffton, featuring guest speaker Perry Barber.
Refreshments will be served at 6:30 p.m. with the meeting at 7:00 p.m.
For close to four decades, Barber has been a trailblazer in her field – she’s the only woman to umpire major-league exhibitions in both the U.S. and Japan, and only one of seven women to umpire major-league spring training games.
She’s also a Jeopardy! champion, a Mensa member, an identical twin, a published author, and the subject of numerous magazine and newspaper articles and books. In her former career as a singer/songwriter/guitarist, she was the opening act for Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel, Hall and Oates, and other music luminaries.
Members of the Athletic Club of the Low Country and guests are welcome to attend. Guests should call Judy Barry at 843-705- 5223 to register their intention
to attend the meeting. The Athletic Club of the Lowcountry meets the second Monday of each month with the exception of June, July, August, and December. New members and visitors are always welcome.
