John Paul II ran its winning streak to seven games and kept its playoff hopes alive with a 9-4 win over Thomas Heyward on Wednesday.
Ray Johnson struck out nine and limited the Rebels to four hits to earn the win, and Jack Jolley had three hits to lead the Golden Warriors at the plate. Hayden Jennings, Mark Tigges, and Josh Horton added two hits apiece for JPII.
JPII (13-7, 5-4) hosts Memorial Day for a non-region game at 6 p.m. Monday before wrapping up the regular season with a pivotal region game against visiting St. Andrew’s at 5 p.m. Thursday.
