Mikey Chappelear tied a school record with six goals as May River’s boys ran their winning streak to 14 games with a 10-1 rout of Battery Creek.
Joel Fleek scored two goals and assisted on three more, and Conner Golden had a goal and two assists for the Sharks, who led 6-0 at halftime. Chris Pineda added a goal, Al Day and Nick Lewis had assists, and Chappelear added an assist to go with his six goals.
Tony Rodriguez made four saves for the Sharks.
May River (18-1, 7-0) hosts crosstown rival Bluffton at 7 p.m. Friday with a chance to clinch the region title with a win. The Bobcats must win all four of their remaining region games to claim a share of the region crown.
