May River opened a three-game Region 8-3A series with Ridgeland-Hardeeville with a 15-0 win at home Monday.
Josh Patterson struck out four and allowed one hit over two innings and Mitch Ledbetter fanned three in two scoreless innings for the Sharks.
Leadoff man Tater Goodson was 3-for-3 with a double, an RBI, and three runs, and Cooper George and Patterson each drove in three runs to lead May River’s offense.
Allen Delouche had the only hit for the Jaguars.
The Sharks (12-3, 6-1) travel to Ridgeland for the second game of the series at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
