HS Baseball: Sharks Take Series Opener From Dolphins

May River baseball cruised to a 10-4 win over Region 8-3A rival Battery Creek on Wednesday.

Tater Goodson’s two-run double sparked a three-run second inning that gave the Sharks the lead for good. Cooper George, Andrew Perez, and Logan Wake each had a double and an RBI for the Sharks.

Josh Patterson struck out seven and walked four over four no-hit innings to earn the win, and Van Phillips pitched the final three innings for the save, allowing three runs (one earned) and four hits with five strikeouts.

May River (8-2, 3-1) travels to Battery Creek at 7 p.m. Friday.
