John Paul II girls’ soccer opened its season with a dominant 8-0 win at Patrick Henry on Friday.
Caroline Lavery and Alondra Hurtado scored two goals apiece, and McKenna Byrne, Yndia Kessinger, Eileen Lundblad, and Abby Quinty each added a goal for the Golden Warriors.
Quinty and Gianna Torinese combined for the shutout in goal with the help of a strong defensive effort led by Merritt Woodham.
JPII (1-0) hosts St. Andrew’s at 3:15 p.m. Tuesday.
