John Paul II’s girls erased a 10-point second-half deficit to claim a 41-38 win over visiting Colleton Prep on Friday.
Tkai DeVore poured in 26 points and Abigail Barker scored six points to go along with a strong defensive effort for the Golden Warriors.
The Warhawks led 15-9 at halftime and extended the advantage to double digits midway through the third quarter before JPII came charging back. DeVore gave the Golden Warriors a 39-38 lead with 26 seconds left, and they were able to hold on.
JPII (16-4, 5-1) hosts Beaufort Academy on Monday with second place in the region standings on the line.
