USCB Announces 2018 Softball Schedule

The USCB softball team has announced its 2018 schedule, including matchups with seven teams who finished last season in the NAIA Top 25 – three of whom finished in the top 10.

The Sand Sharks open the season at home Feb. 3 against Columbia (S.C.) and welcome Montreat (N.C.) to the Richard Gray Sports Complex in Hardeeville on Feb. 4.

USCB will play in two top tournaments in March – the Spring Games in Clermont, Fla., and the NFCA NAIA Leadoff Classic in Columbus, Ga. – before beginning Sun Conference play.

“We have a hardworking team who is eager to take the field on Feb. 3,” coach Laura Heberling said in a release. “We have a strong schedule, including two tournaments that will prepare us for conference play. Our conference is strong from top to bottom and every series is very important. We need to focus one game at a time to reach our goals.”

The Sand Sharks also have a number of special dates planned, including Youth Day on Feb. 24, Faculty & Staff Appreciation Day on March 22, Family & Alumnae Day on March 24, Strikeout Cancer Day on March 25, Protect & Serve Day on April 14, and Senior Day on April 21.
