USCB Announces 2018 Baseball Schedule

USCB has announced its 2018 baseball schedule, beginning with the Sand Sharks hosting Milligan College on Feb. 2 at Hardeeville’s Richard Gray Sports Complex.

“This will be a very challenging season for our baseball program,” USCB coach Jeremy Christian said in a release. “The only way we can grow our program into a national contender is to consistently play the best competition, and I feel we have put our program in position to do that this season.”

The Sand Sharks will compete against six opponents currently ranked in the NAIA top 25 poll, as well as five games against NCAA Division II teams. The Sun Conference schedule features three-game series against four ranked teams – No. 4 Southeastern (Fla.), No. 10 Keiser (Fla.), No. 21 St. Thomas (Fla.) and No. 25 Webber International (Fla.) – and the non-conference slate includes two games against No. 15 Middle Georgia and a three-game set at No. 12 Georgia Gwinnett.

The Sun Conference tournament is set to begin May 3, followed by the NAIA World Series Opening Round on May 14, and the NAIA World Series in Lewiston, Idaho, on May 24.

The Sand Sharks finished the 2017 campaign with a 32-22 record, and a 13-11 record in Sun Conference play.
